This map settlement is distinct from the Ethiopian Jesuits age-up option in The African Royals.

Settlement & allied options
The Commerce Age Conquistador is mounted gunpowder with ranged splash and an anti-cavalry role, giving early access to pressure against cavalry and artillery. Flying Buttress (250 Wood, 250 Coin) raises building hit points by 20%. Smokeless Powder (250 Food, 250 Coin) raises gunpowder trooper and cavalry damage by 10%, artillery damage by 5%. Christian Schools costs 100 Wood and 100 Coin and reduces land Villager training time by 15%; it becomes more valuable when the economy is still training workers in a long match or after a Revolution.
Units, technologies & maps
Use Conquistadors against cavalry or artillery in Commerce Age, and protect them from anti-cavalry fire. Smokeless Powder suits a gunpowder army; Flying Buttress helps a position under siege. Do not merge this map site with the African Royals Jesuits alliance, which grants a Church Wagon and has different shipment benefits.
Conquistador is a mobile specialist against key units
The Commerce Age Conquistador has 180 hit points, 30% ranged resistance and 7.25 speed. It costs 80 Food and 80 Coin and trains in 35 seconds. Its 18-damage ranged attack at range 12 has bonuses against Heavy cavalry, Hand shock troops and Artillery, while damage against Villagers is reduced. The unit’s mobility helps it reposition against those targets, but the reduced worker damage and cavalry counters mean it should not be treated as a general-purpose raider.
Alliance technologies cover structures, gunpowder and workers
Flying Buttress increases building hit points by 20% for 250 Wood and 250 Coin, researched in 10 seconds. Smokeless Powder increases damage by 10% for Gunpowder Troopers and Gunpowder Cavalry, and by 5% for Artillery in the current Definitive Edition profile; it costs 250 Food and 250 Coin, or 450 Influence for African civilizations, and researches in 10 seconds. Christian Schools reduces land Villager training time by 15%, costing 100 Wood and 100 Coin plus 200 Influence for the African option. Its 10-second research does not speed ship production. These technologies target defenses, gunpowder armies and sustained worker production respectively.
Several routes unlock the Jesuit alliance
A Trading Post or Inca Tambo on a Jesuit Mission settlement unlocks its options. Ethiopians can access Jesuit technologies at a Mountain Monastery with the Jesuit Alliance, while the Mexican Native Embassy route applies to Flying Buttress and Smokeless Powder under their stated conditions. Jesuit sites are listed on Atlas, Bahia, Borneo, Highlands, Honshu, Indochina, Malaysia and other maps. Confirm the active access route and map position before budgeting the technology.
