Pepper Coast

Pepper Coast is a coastal Random Map from Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition – The African Royals. Mangrove marsh along the equatorial shoreline gives way to grassy uplands. Trade Routes run inland and along the coast, land and sea resources are abundant, and players begin with extra resource crates while their opponents remain close.

Coast, routes & starting bonus

Akan and Jesuit settlements are listed. The extra crates accelerate the opening but are finite; the Trade Routes and settlement sites shape the later contest. A Dock or naval force may affect coastal access, while opponents close by can raid exposed Villagers or unsupported Trade Posts.

Using the early resources

Use the starting resources to reach a deliberate opening faster, then transition to map control before the temporary advantage fades. Choose whether to contest inland trade, the coastal route or an alliance. Protect workers and production because the short distance to opponents makes unguarded expansion risky.

Practical direction

Scout route access and the coast, then spend the crates toward a defined goal such as production, a Dock or a Trading Post. Check whether water gathering is safe and maintain vision on nearby opponents. Place production where it can reinforce the likely front.
