Atlas
Atlas is a land Random Map from Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition – The African Royals. A mountain range divides the players, leaving a small number of narrow passes between rugged terrain and resource-rich valleys. Each side has a Trade Route and resources.

Mountain passes & settlements
Berber and Jesuit settlements are listed, together with Desert Archer and Corsair Marksman outlaws. The passes restrict direct movement and create defendable approaches. Local trade can develop on either side before an army attempts to cross, but the pass network should be scouted first.
Holding or crossing the divide
The mountain barrier rewards control of territory and chokepoints, including in Treaty play. Build a stable economy on your side, then choose whether to defend a pass, contest local trade or prepare a coordinated crossing. Alliance sites are useful only when their approach can be protected.
Practical direction
Map the passes with the Explorer before moving the main army. Keep enough forces near likely crossings and avoid feeding reinforcements through a narrow gap one at a time. If you remain defensive, secure your Trade Route and resources so the range does not become an economic disadvantage.
