Korea

Korea is a Definitive Edition hybrid Random Map set on the Korean Peninsula. Its characteristic layout places fishable ocean along the northern coast and a Trade Route across the south, which runs through each team’s side of the map. The autumn setting describes the map’s appearance; it does not determine resource or settlement positions in a generated match.

Map character

Scout the northern shoreline to locate fish and a safe Dock site, then check the southern Trade Route and its Trading Post sockets. The map lists a Jesuit Mission settlement, so a Trading Post there can provide access to that Minor Civilization’s alliance. Treasure sites may be guarded by Black Bears, Black Panthers, Blind Monks, Lions, Lion-Tailed Macaques, Mongol Riders, Smugglers or Tigers. Exact placement and which guardians appear depend on the generated layout.

What to scout

Decide early whether your civilization benefits more from a protected fishing economy, a Trade Route investment or a land-focused opening. The north coast creates a water opportunity, while the southern route gives both teams a reason to contest the map’s central approaches. Scout before committing to a fixed build order, and locate the Jesuit settlement before choosing an alliance plan.

Two different map edges reward scouting

Korea’s southern Trade Route and northern ocean serve different purposes. Posts on the route can improve shipment progress, while Fishing Boats can turn a safe northern shoreline into additional Food. The southern route passes along the sides of both teams rather than replacing the need to defend the land approaches. A Dock without safe water access can be an exposed investment, so check shoreline distance and enemy reach first.

Jesuit access and treasure threats

The Jesuit Mission is the listed Minor Civilization on Korea. Locating its settlement early lets you decide whether its alliance fits your unit and technology plan. The listed treasure guardians range from bears and big cats to Wokou-associated guardians such as the Blind Monk, Mongol Rider and Smuggler. Approach each treasure after scouting the actual group; do not assume every match contains every guardian or that the scenic autumn description guarantees a specific resource layout.
