Role, availability & values

At the Consulate, the 40-second order costs 800 Export, uses 13 population and grants 80 experience. The composition is seven Prussian Needle Gunners and three Zweihanders. This is a delivered Consulate army rather than a standard Chinese Banner Army production queue. Its ranged and melee elements have different engagement ranges, so keeping them together helps the ranged units support the advance without leaving the Zweihanders isolated.

Training & availability

Chinese Consulate Banner Army; Fortress Age; select German Allies; 800 Export; 40 seconds; 13 population; 3 Zweihänders and 7 Prussian Needle Gunners in Definitive Edition.

Matchup & timing

Choose the force when the Chinese army can use both ranged infantry and a melee element and has 13 population available. Protect the Needle Gunners from cavalry and other units that can close quickly, while using the Zweihanders to contest threats at close range. Order it before the army’s planned engagement; 40 seconds is too long for an emergency response.

A compact two-role reinforcement

Three Zweihanders and seven Prussian Needle Gunners give the force more ranged units than melee units. This composition supports an existing Chinese army rather than covering every matchup alone. Use the Needle Gunners as the main firing line, keep the Zweihanders ready to intercept contact and add other troops if the opponent fields a threat neither group handles efficiently.

Population and timing

The Banner Army’s 13 population cost is relatively compact for a delivered mixed force, but it still competes with the rest of the Chinese army’s cap. Reserve space before ordering and retain enough Export for the Consulate plan. If the front is already under attack, a closer production building or a faster reinforcement may arrive in time more reliably.

Current roster and price

The Chinese Fortress Age option costs 800 Export, takes 40 seconds and uses 13 population after selecting German Allies. It contains three Zweihänders and seven Prussian Needle Gunners in the Definitive Edition. The Asian Dynasties company had three Zweihanders and six Prussian Needle Guns; the unit names and gunner count changed in the Definitive Edition.

Mixed infantry group

The Needle Gunners supply ranged fire while the Zweihänders can engage at close range. Keep the two components close so the melee units can disrupt threats approaching the gun line. The company provides no artillery, so choose another Consulate force if the army specifically needs to counter enemy guns or siege buildings.
