House of Hanover

House of Hanover is one of the German Exploration Age Royal Embassy choices. It unlocks Black Brunswickers, Totenkopf Hussars and Drummers, raises their train limits, and disables the other listed German Houses, making it a roster branch rather than a universal upgrade.

Effect & research conditions

Research takes five seconds at the Royal Embassy. It enables Black Brunswickers, Totenkopf Hussars and Drummers to be trained and upgraded there; adds train limits of eight Black Brunswickers, six Totenkopf Hussars and three Drummers; and sets their population costs to one, one and two respectively. The technology disables House of Habsburg, House of Oldenburg, House of Wettin and House of Wittelsbach.

Research condition

Germans; Exploration Age; Royal Embassy. The choice disables House of Habsburg, House of Oldenburg, House of Wettin and House of Wittelsbach.

When to research

Choose Hanover when its combined infantry, cavalry and support roster fits the matchup better than the alternative Houses. The train limits do not deliver the units automatically: the player still needs to pay their costs and use Embassy production. Check which House effects become unavailable before researching, then reserve population for the chosen army composition.

Compare the House branches before locking one in

The German House system asks the player to choose which Royal Embassy roster and effects to make available. Hanover provides Black Brunswickers, Totenkopf Hussars and Drummers, while researching it disables Habsburg, Oldenburg, Wettin and Wittelsbach. It should therefore be compared with those alternatives before the short five-second research is started. The choice affects later unit access and cannot be treated as a small bonus that can be freely stacked with every other House.

Turn train limits into an actual composition

Hanover's listed limits allow up to eight Black Brunswickers, six Totenkopf Hussars and three Drummers, with respective population costs of one, one and two. The technology opens the Embassy queues but does not create the units. Build a composition that uses the roster's roles, keep population available for those batches, and protect the Royal Embassy if it is supporting reinforcements. If the opponent's army makes another House's units more useful, the lost branch options matter more than Hanover's expanded limits.
