When to research

Choose Oldenburg when the German plan wants Royal Hunters, Northern Musketeers and the League of Armed Neutrality. The Embassy unlock comes with unit limits and population costs, while selecting this House disables Habsburg, Hanover, Wettin and Wittelsbach. Compare the other House rewards first; this is a branch choice, not a bonus that stacks with every German House.

Choose the Royal Embassy branch deliberately

House of Oldenburg enables Royal Hunters and Northern Musketeers at the Royal Embassy, raises their respective train limits by seven and eight, and sets their population costs to two and one. The technology also grants League of Armed Neutrality and disables the House of Habsburg, House of Hanover, House of Wettin and House of Wittelsbach options. This is therefore a branch choice with a roster consequence, not simply a free addition to every other House benefit.

Commit only when the enabled roster fits

The Exploration Age Royal Embassy research takes five seconds, but choosing it closes the listed alternative Houses. Before researching, compare the Royal Hunter and Northern Musketeer roles with the German army and the other House effects that would no longer be available. The increased train limits do not provide the units automatically; the player must still pay for and queue them at the Embassy. Use the branch when the unlocked roster and League of Armed Neutrality support the actual map and matchup.
