Indian Mercenary Force
Indian Mercenary Force is a Fortress Age Chinese Consulate package that delivers eight Marathan Dacoits. It is the larger follow-up to the Commerce Age Indian Mercenary Company and enters as a set of heavy infantry rather than a trainable Indian unit line at a normal production building.

Campaign-only Chinese Consulate Banner Army in Act II: China; Fortress Age; select Indian Mercenaries; 800 Export; 40 seconds; 24 population; 8 Marathan Dacoits.
Matchup & timing
Use the force when a sustained anti-cavalry infantry group is useful and the economy can support a Fortress Age company. Its eight bodies need support against other threats, so avoid sending them alone into an army that can exploit their weaknesses. Check the Marathan Dacoit entry for individual values and keep population available for the rest of the force.
Fortress Age campaign package
The Indian Mercenary Force is a campaign-only Chinese Consulate option in Act II: China. Selecting Indian Mercenaries and reaching the Fortress Age unlocks a company of eight Marathan Dacoits for 800 Export. It takes 40 seconds and occupies 24 population, twice the population of the Commerce Age Indian Mercenary Company.
Anti-cavalry role
Marathan Dacoits are heavy infantry with bonus damage against Cavalry and Shock Infantry, giving this larger company a defensive role against mounted pressure. Keep the eight units together and support them against threats outside that matchup. The long delivery and high population commitment suit a mission where the Indian alliance can be established in advance; they are poor emergency reinforcements if the objective is already under attack.
