Kęsgaila Agriculture

Kęsgaila Agriculture is a Fortress Age Polish technology researched at the Sejm, or at the Rada for the Cossack Hetmanate. It increases Villager gathering from Folwarks by 5% and raises the Sejm’s passive Food generation by 20%.

Effect & research conditions

Research costs 200 Wood and 200 Coin and takes 40 seconds. The two effects apply to separate sources: workers gathering at Folwarks and the Sejm’s automatic Food income. Sanguszko Agriculture follows for most Polish states; the Cossack Hetmanate instead has Ostrogski Agriculture. Check the active state’s research path before committing.

Research condition

Available to Poles from the Fortress Age. Research it at Sejm (All) or Rada (Cossack Hetmanate).

When to research

Research when Folwarks are in use and the Sejm will continue generating Food for a meaningful period. The passive bonus works without assigning a Villager, while the gathering effect needs workers at Folwarks. The 40-second research and mixed cost make it a planned economic step rather than an emergency response.

Workers and passive food use different systems

Kęsgaila Agriculture improves active Folwark gathering and passive Sejm income at the same time. The 5% Villager bonus requires workers to gather from Folwarks; the 20% increase to Sejm Food trickle continues independently. If the economy uses neither source, the technology has little value. Its state-specific follow-up also matters: plan the next research before assuming the Polish upgrade chain is identical for the Cossack Hetmanate and other states.
