Livestock Pen Wagon (shipment)

Livestock Pen Wagon is a Japanese Consulate technology added to the Dutch alliance route in Definitive Edition update 20322. It sends one wagon that builds a Livestock Pen. The pen provides Goats for Japanese Shrines, but those Goats cannot be harvested for Food; their purpose is to occupy available animal space at Shrines and support the Shrine system.

Definitive Edition technology

The Japanese can research it in the Industrial Age at the Consulate for 900 Export; research takes 30 seconds. The wagon must be unpacked into a Livestock Pen before the player can obtain the Goats. Because the animals cannot be slaughtered, this is not a substitute for hunting or a direct food shipment. Its usefulness depends on having Shrine sites with open animal capacity and on the value of filling those slots rather than choosing a different Dutch Consulate technology.

Japanese Shrine support

Use the option when a Japanese economy has room to benefit from more Shrine animals and the Industrial Age timing leaves enough match time for the investment. Check nearby Shrines before researching: full animal capacity means the Goats cannot serve the intended role until space becomes available. This technology is specific to Definitive Edition update 20322 onward; do not assume it exists in the original Asian Dynasties ruleset.

Protect the wagon and confirm Shrine capacity

The wagon travels at speed 4.0 with 250 hit points, line of sight 18 and 20% siege resistance. The saved unit profile does not record a separate accelerated construction rate for this wagon, so plan for the normal deployment and keep it protected until the Livestock Pen is ready. Its Goats cannot be slaughtered for Food; the intended value is assigning them to Shrines with open animal capacity. Check those Shrine slots before spending 900 Export and waiting through the 30-second Industrial Age research. A full Shrine cannot use another Goat until space is available.
