Oregon Trail
Oregon Trail is a State Capitol technology for the United States, California and Texas, with access also listed for the Mexican Revolution. It reduces Construction Wagon cost by 25% and increases their hit points and speed by 25%. The upgrade improves the mobile units used to establish buildings, rather than every structure after construction.

Effect & research conditions
The United States can research it from the Commerce Age; the Mexican Revolution route has its own Revolution requirement. Research takes 10 seconds and costs 1,000 Wood. Use the State Capitol and confirm the active Federal State or Revolution rules, since eligible civilizations and ages differ. Wagons still need a legal site and can only transform into buildings allowed by the active rules.

Available to United States, California, and Texas from the Commerce Age (United States) ; Revolution (Mexicans). Research it at State Capitol.
When to research
Oregon Trail pays off when the player expects to deploy several Construction Wagons or move them through exposed territory. Lower cost leaves more Wood for structures, while extra speed and durability improve the chance that a wagon reaches the site. If no wagon production or shipment is planned, the research may delay more immediate infrastructure or army production.
Mobility and survival are part of the discount
The cost reduction is only one part of Oregon Trail. Construction Wagons also gain 25% hit points and speed, improving both resource efficiency and reliability. Faster wagons spend less time crossing contested ground; extra health gives an opponent less opportunity to destroy one before it deploys. These bonuses are most useful when the player has access to wagons and knows which structures the active rules allow. A quicker wagon still needs a safe route and valid placement.
