Role, availability & values

The unit has 160 hit points, moves at 4.0 speed and occupies one population. It costs 75 Food and 25 Coin and takes 30 seconds to train. Its attacks deal 13 hand, 25 ranged and 19 siege damage, with bonuses of 3.0× against Cavalry and 2.25× against Shock troops.

Training & availability

Scenario-only unit in the War of the Three Kingdoms Historical Map, available through the Parliamentarians in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition — The Baltic Powers. It is not a standard British Barracks unit in ordinary random-map play.

Matchup & timing

Use Redcoats to protect ranged units or buildings from mounted attacks. They need support against ranged Infantry and artillery, and should not be sent after mobile targets alone. Check Parliamentarians access in the active mode before planning production.

War of the Three Kingdoms roster and automatic ranks

Redcoats appear in the War of the Three Kingdoms scenario rather than as a normal British multiplayer upgrade. They cost 75 Food and 25 Coin, take 30 seconds to train, and have 160 hit points with a 25-damage ranged attack at range 12. The 13-damage melee attack receives a 3× bonus against Cavalry and 2.25× against Shock troops, so the unit protects the Parliamentarian line from mounted assaults. Its rank improves automatically as the scenario advances through Ages: the starting unit has a bonus, then receives larger hit-point and damage increases in the Fortress, Industrial and Imperial Ages. Check the scenario’s current Age before comparing its stats with a standard Musketeer or planning a long-term defense.
