Function & construction
It becomes available in the Fortress Age and can be built by eligible Haudenosaunee units or a Travois. Its roster differs from a European Artillery Foundry and reflects the Haudenosaunee unit line.

Placement & timing
Build it when the army needs artillery or dedicated siege pressure. Protect the site and screen slow siege units from Cavalry and infantry counters.
Build the Haudenosaunee siege roster
The Fortress Age building produces Haudenosaunee siege units such as Light Cannon, Mantlet, and Ram. Eligible units or a Travois can construct it. This roster is distinct from a European Artillery Foundry and supports both field combat and assaults on structures. Place the Workshop where the army can defend production, then select siege units according to whether the immediate need is ranged fire, protection, or building damage.
The Haudenosaunee alternative to a European foundry
The Siege Workshop fills the Haudenosaunee siege-production role associated with the Artillery Foundry, while using the civilization’s own roster. The 4-by-4 building costs 200 Wood, has 2,500 hit points and 12 line of sight, and takes 30 seconds to build. Native Villagers and their counterparts or a Travois can construct it, with up to eight builders contributing. Its Fortress Age access means it competes with other major military investments, so establish it when the army can protect the site and use the production.
Choose the siege unit for the job
Light Cannon provides ranged artillery, Mantlets add a durable screen with siege damage, and Rams pressure structures at close range. Siege Drill can improve movement for Rams, Mantlets and Light Cannons, helping a moving force stay together; the upgrade does not change their attack or durability. These units have different ranges and vulnerabilities, so the Workshop is a production hub rather than a single-purpose building. Protect its approach and select the unit that answers the current target instead of queuing siege without an escort.
