Role, availability & values
The current group costs 1,600 Export, uses 29 population and takes 60 seconds to train. Garrochistas provide mounted mobility while Falconets supply ranged and siege damage. The older expansion’s composition is different, so do not use its 13-Espadachin count for Definitive Edition planning. The Japanese player must select Spain as a Consulate ally and reach the Industrial Age.
Training & availability
Japanese Consulate Banner Army; Industrial Age; select Spanish Allies; 1,600 Export; 60 seconds; 29 population; 7 Garrochistas and 3 Consulate Falconets in Definitive Edition.
Matchup & timing
Choose the current group when the army needs both cavalry and artillery and can reserve the large population. Keep the Falconets screened and use Garrochistas to respond to threats around the guns. Compare the minute-long delivery with the opponent’s pressure, and check which expansion’s composition applies before choosing a build order.
The unit mix changed between expansions
The Spanish Expeditionary Army is a useful example of why version labels matter. The Asian Dynasties roster sends 13 Espadachins and three Falconets, while Definitive Edition’s listed group uses seven Garrochistas and three Falconets. Both consume Consulate access, but their front-line roles and population demands differ. Use the current Japanese Consulate preview before spending 1,600 Export, then position the cavalry and guns as a coordinated formation.
Definitive Edition composition
The Industrial Age Spanish Allies option costs 1,600 Export, takes 60 seconds and uses 29 population. Its current formation is seven Garrochistas and three Consulate Falconets. The Asian Dynasties army instead contained thirteen Espadachins and three Falconets, so older unit counts describe a different roster.
Cavalry with a three-gun siege line
Garrochistas provide the mobile cavalry element and can help protect the three Falconets as the army advances. Keep the guns together behind support and avoid committing all 29 population until the siege target and route are clear. The company’s cost and one-minute delay make it a planned Industrial Age push rather than a quick response to an attack.
