Spanish Treasure Fleet
Spanish Treasure Fleet is an Age of Empires III scenario in Act I: Blood (scenario 7), set in 1566. The player commands Knights of St. John.

Scenario setting & objectives
The required goals are Place a Town Center to establish your base; Capture six total Treasure ships. Optional goals include Destroy any Spanish Forts. ( each); Kill Delgado.
Mission approach
Place the Town Center first and protect the builders so the Knights of St. John can establish a base before the fleet operation. Then focus on capturing six Treasure Ships, tracking the required count and keeping enough land and naval support to secure the ships as you move along the route. Spanish Forts and Delgado are optional targets: clear a Fort if it blocks a safe capture route, but do not let optional fights consume the force needed to reach six ships.
Town Center and captured ships
Spanish Treasure Fleet is the seventh scenario of Act I: Blood, set in 1566 and featuring the Knights of St. John. The required objectives are to place a Town Center to establish a base and capture six Treasure Ships. Destroying Spanish Forts and killing Delgado are optional goals. The mission therefore combines an opening settlement task with naval capture, so the player needs to secure workers and establish the Town Center before directing the army toward the ships. Treasure Ships are mission targets to capture, not merely ordinary vessels to sink; identify the objective marker and use the scenario’s rules for securing each one. Spanish Forts can threaten the route, so clear or bypass them depending on whether the optional reward is worth the detour. Delgado is also optional; do not weaken the force needed to capture six ships just to pursue him early. The scenario follows the Knights of St. John campaign and uses authored objectives, map placement and starting resources. Build a stable base that can produce or support the naval force, then secure each ship in a controlled sequence. Protect the units and ships that are needed for capture because losses can slow the objective. Use the mission briefing to confirm whether ships are guarded or require a specific interaction. This is a campaign scenario, not a general Spanish naval strategy or a random-map treasure mechanic.
Establishing the base
The first required objective is to place a Town Center, which gives the Knights of St. John a base for production and defense. Secure the location with the starting force and protect the builders while the structure is placed. Once the base is established, focus on the six Treasure Ships required for victory. The optional Spanish Forts and Delgado can be handled when the army has enough strength to take the detour. Do not leave the Town Center exposed while naval units are away from the shoreline.
Capturing the ships safely
The six Treasure Ships are the required completion count, so track progress and avoid risking the capture force against every Spanish Fort. If a Fort blocks the route, decide whether to clear it for safety or move around it. Delgado and the forts are optional targets; the Town Center and six ships remain the victory conditions. Keep naval units and land support close enough to protect each capture.
Campaign pacing
Establishing the Town Center gives the Knights of St. John a secure point for the rest of the mission. Keep enough workers gathering to support the naval objective while the army protects the base. Capture the Treasure Ships in a controlled sequence and monitor the six-ship requirement. Optional forts and Delgado can be challenged when the core force is strong enough, but they should not delay the Town Center or leave ships undefended. This scenario is part of Act I: Blood, with campaign-specific starting conditions distinct from standard Spanish play.
Optional targets
Destroying a Spanish Fort or killing Delgado may make the route safer, but both are optional. Complete the Town Center and ship-capture requirements first if the detour risks losing the force needed to take six Treasure Ships.
Base and capture order
After the Town Center is placed, use it to secure the starting area and support the force that will capture the six Treasure Ships. Capture ships in a controlled route and keep enough naval support nearby to protect each objective. Destroying the forts is optional unless a fort blocks safe passage.
Build a base and capture six ships
Morgan and Lizzie catch Delgado and the Spanish Treasure Fleet in this seventh Act I: Blood scenario. The primary objectives are to place a Town Center and capture six Treasure Ships. Establish the base before committing to extended naval combat so the player has a source of reinforcements. The optional Spanish Forts and Delgado are additional targets, but the six ships are the required count; track captured ships and preserve vessels that can help control the route. Use the fleet to clear defenders and prevent Spanish units from interrupting the capture. If the Town Center is exposed, keep a land reserve near it rather than sending every unit to sea. The scenario’s story is a pursuit of Delgado after Morgan and Lizzie catch up with the fleet, so naval control and secure capture sites matter more than destroying every enemy structure.
