Tent

Tent is a small scenario structure used in Age of Empires III campaign and Scenario Editor maps. It may represent an encampment or serve a mission-specific purpose, but it is not a standard House, barracks or economic building in ordinary civilization technology trees.

Scenario structure

The catalogued profile has 400 hit points, 12 line of sight and a 1×1 footprint. Its availability is listed at the Exploration Age, but ownership, construction and any interaction depend on the scenario using it. The entry has no standard unit queue or population effect; do not confuse its visual role with that of an Outpost or House.

Research condition

Scenario structure · 400 hit points · 12 line of sight · 1×1 footprint; availability and interaction depend on the scenario.

Recorded profile

Read the mission objective to decide whether a Tent is scenery, an asset to defend or a target to clear. Its modest health means it can be removed if the scenario allows damage, but its function cannot be inferred from appearance alone. In ordinary matches, it is not a substitute for population support or a build-order structure.

A scenario object rather than an economy choice

A 1×1 footprint makes the Tent easy to place as a landmark in a designed map, while its 12 line of sight can matter to the local scripted setup. The catalogued building profile should not be read as proof that players can construct one in every mode. Check mission instructions and the ownership shown in-game before assigning units to it or relying on it for vision.

Reading it in a mission

Tent is cataloged as a scenario structure, so its location and meaning come from the mission that places it. The recorded profile gives it 400 hit points and line of sight 12; neither value establishes that it trains units, provides population or can be constructed by the player. When a Tent appears near an objective, inspect the mission’s stated task and nearby forces rather than assuming that destroying or occupying the scenery is required.

Distinguishing nearby structures

A Tent may visually suggest a camp, but it should not be treated as an Outpost, Town Center or other standard building. Those structures have defined production, defense or economic functions in ordinary matches; this entry has no cataloged queue or economy effect. Scenario-specific behavior can still be scripted, so the mission briefing and objective state take precedence over assumptions based on appearance.
