When to research

Tezcatlipoca Worship can deliver up to 7 groups of Skull Knight before the 30-minute cap. Research early enough to receive more intervals, reserve population, and keep a safe rally point so the arrivals can join the army. Use the Estate for research. Research takes 10 seconds and costs 900 coin.

Timed Skull Knight delivery

Tezcatlipoca Worship is an Aztec Fortress Age Big Button technology researched at the Estate. It costs 900 Coin and takes 10 seconds. Once researched, it delivers one Skull Knight for every four minutes of elapsed game time, up to 30 minutes, for a maximum of seven units. The trickle is tied to total game time, not the time since research, so waiting to click the button does not restart the interval.

Evaluating the late-game return

The investment becomes more attractive as the game lasts: the technology reaches four delivered Skull Knights after 16 minutes and can reach seven by the 28-minute mark. Each Skull Knight represents a substantial combat unit, but the Estate research and its 900 Coin cost compete with immediate army production. Use it when the Aztec economy can spare Coin and the force will arrive early enough to affect the match. A late click in a game that is already ending may deliver too few units to repay the opportunity cost.
