Tufanci Corps
Tufanci Corps was a legacy Ottoman Fortress Age Mosque technology that delivered 15 Janissaries after the Palace Intrigue Home City Card had been sent. It supplied an immediate infantry group through research rather than upgrading a production building or adding a repeatable Janissary queue. Definitive Edition removed the technology, so its conditions describe the earlier game rules.

Fortress Age Janissary reinforcement
In the older rules, first reach the Fortress Age and send Palace Intrigue. Research Tufanci Corps at the Mosque for 1,000 Wood; completion takes 15 seconds and places 15 Janissaries at the Home City shipment point. The card is a prerequisite, not the shipment itself: sending Palace Intrigue unlocks the option, while the later research spends Wood to call in the force. Reserve population for the group and keep a safe path from its arrival point to the army.

Palace Intrigue prerequisite
Use the legacy option when a Fortress Age Ottoman force needs a substantial block of Janissaries and the player can afford the 1,000-Wood research without delaying essential defenses or artillery. The reinforcement can add a frontline quickly, but it arrives away from the Mosque and takes time to reach a distant battle. It is less useful when the army already has sufficient Heavy Infantry or the front needs immediate siege support. Do not include Tufanci Corps in a Definitive Edition build: the research was removed, and the current Ottoman roster must be checked for the selected edition and update.
Research shipment versus ordinary production
Tufanci Corps delivered one group of 15 Janissaries when its research completed; it was not a technology that improved every Janissary and did not unlock continuous production. Ordinary unit production still followed the Ottoman military roster and its own building, resource and training rules. Treat the research as a one-time army timing: the wood investment buys a fixed reinforcement, while a production queue uses resources and time to build units as capacity allows. This distinction matters when comparing it with other Fortress Age spending.
Check the route from the Home City point
The 15 Janissaries appeared at the Home City shipment point rather than beside the Mosque or at a chosen forward base. Set a rally route toward a defended position and avoid leaving the new force to cross contested ground alone. The arrival point determines how quickly the research affects the battle: if the army is far away, secure the route or complete the research before the fight begins. A safe reinforcement path can turn a delayed arrival into a useful reserve instead of a stranded group.
Keep the earlier rules separate from Definitive Edition
The recorded combination of the Fortress Age, Mosque, Palace Intrigue and 1,000 Wood belongs to the legacy technology. Definitive Edition removed Tufanci Corps, so its old prerequisite should not be mistaken for a current Palace Intrigue effect or a modern Ottoman upgrade. When using an older guide, check the release named in its instructions and compare the actual Mosque research menu in the game being played.
