Function

Ottoman Mosque upgrades can change Yörük production speed and population limits. The building also trains Imams and, where enabled, specialized units such as Muhbirs; Hausa access depends on the relevant alliance rules. Exact roster and technology availability differ by civilization and release.

Placement & timing

Ottomans can build it early when Yörük improvements support the chosen economy. Select upgrades in response to the current worker cap and match length, rather than researching every improvement before the army or Age advance is funded.

Ottoman Yörük economy and research

The Mosque is a unique Ottoman building that supports the civilization’s automatically produced Yörük workforce, trains religious units and researches economic or military improvements. It costs 150 Wood, becomes available in the Exploration Age, takes 20 seconds to construct, has 1,500 hit points and line of sight 12. Up to eight builders may contribute, though assigning too many workers can delay the early economy. Mosque technologies can raise the Yörük population limit or change how quickly new Yörüks arrive. Those choices are especially important for Ottomans because their workers are produced automatically from the Town Center rather than trained individually like most Settlers. Research the improvement that addresses the current constraint: raising the worker cap helps an economy that has room to grow, while production speed is valuable when the age-up or military plan can support the additional population. The Mosque also trains Imams and, in relevant setups, Muhbirs; the latter’s availability may depend on the civilization or alliance rules. The building’s listed passive experience gain can support shipment progression, but should not replace normal map control and Trading Post planning. In later content, Hausa or scenario rules may grant access to the Mosque, so its roster and research are not universal outside the Ottoman civilization. Build it early enough for its economic upgrades to repay their cost, but do not spend every resource on religious research while an army or age advance is needed. The Church serves related religious functions for many European civilizations but does not share the Ottoman Yörük system. Use the Ottoman and Yörük entries to understand how each upgrade changes worker production, and the Imam or Muhbir entries for unit-specific roles.

Selecting the first improvement

The Mosque’s early research competes with the Ottomans’ military and age-up spending, so choose the first improvement according to the actual bottleneck. If the Town Center is approaching its Yörük limit, a population-cap improvement creates room for the automatic workforce to grow. If population space is available but workers are arriving too slowly, production speed can better support the boom. The right order depends on the match and the expected length of play. Imams and other available religious units are support pieces, and should not be mistaken for ordinary Ottoman military production. Protect the building so its expensive technologies and unique role remain available after the first raid.

Version and civilization scope

The Mosque’s Ottoman role is distinct from the Church used by many European civilizations. Some later African or scenario content can grant access, but that does not make the Yörük upgrades or entire Ottoman roster available to every Mosque user. Check the civilization and scenario conditions before applying a research effect.

Ottoman economy link

Because Ottoman Yörüks arrive automatically, their capacity and production speed determine how quickly the economy grows. Mosque research should be timed around that worker stream and the army’s resource demand, with enough Wood reserved to build the Mosque without delaying essential production.

Ottoman worker and economy improvements

The Ottoman Mosque researches civilization-specific improvements, including technologies that can strengthen Settler production and gathering. Because Ottoman workers train automatically, these upgrades can compound over time without a manual queue. The Mosque’s technologies cost resources and research time, so build it early only when the game is safe enough for the improvements to repay their cost.

Choose the training upgrades before a long match

Training-time improvements are especially useful when the Ottoman economy will continue producing workers for a long game or Treaty match. Against early pressure, military production and defense may be more urgent than research. Place the Mosque within the defended base, monitor population so automatic Settlers do not stall, and prioritize upgrades that support the actual resource shortage. Its value depends on the game mode and available technology set.
