Effect & research conditions
Research costs 100 Wood and 100 Coin and takes 10 seconds. The bonus applies to Berry Bush gathering only; it does not affect Hunts, livestock or Farms. Secure the Bhakti Temple site and check that Berry Bushes remain available before committing to the technology.
Research condition
Available from the Exploration Age. Research it at Trading Post or Tambo on a Bhakti Temple holy site.
When to research
Research when Villagers can gather safely from nearby Berry Bushes for a sustained period. The 40% increase can make that source much more productive, but Berry Bushes are finite and map-dependent. If the workers must move to Hunts, Farms or livestock, the bonus no longer applies. Use it early enough to benefit before the bushes are depleted.
Plan around the finite berry supply
Vegetarianism gives a strong improvement to a narrow resource source. Count the Berry Bushes within safe reach and assign only enough workers to use them without exposing the economy to raids. The 40% work-rate increase can support early Food needs, but does not change the total Food in each bush or make the source renewable. When the bushes run out, transition workers to another source rather than keeping them at the settlement for an inactive bonus.
