Grindstone - Minecraft Dungeons II Artifact

The Grindstone is a Fighter artifact in Minecraft Dungeons II that sharpens your weapons so enemies feel the sting of your steel. It adds a flat damage bonus to every hit, and it sits at A tier on the tier list as the other big contender for the third damage-artifact slot.

Effect and cost

The grindstone costs 30 souls with a quick 4-second cooldown. Its bonus is flat extra damage per hit rather than a percentage multiplier, which makes it scale best with fast weapons — the more hits you land, the more the flat bonus adds up. Testing shows different buff families multiply while same-family bonuses add, so the flat Grindstone bonus stacks cleanly alongside percentage boosts like Strength.

When to use it

The Grindstone fits the classic endgame damage stack: Dear Gamer and rifeye rate it about as strong as the Battle Banner in the third slot, and Dear Gamer's hits with Grindstone, Fighter's Flute and Warrior Drums dwarfed the more common Flute, Drums and Fighting Fungus setup. It appears in rifeye's S-tier Awesomeaxe one-shot build. One quirk: wait for its sharpening animation before triggering the Flute, and note that rifeye found it did not always trigger reliably.

How to get it

The Grindstone drops in The Deep Dark and Lullaby Hills. Compare it with the Battle Banner for the third damage slot, and keep a soul source like the Twisted Tooth ready for the 30-soul cost.
