Honeycomb Fields

Honeycomb Fields is the second stop on the hero's journey through Minecraft Dungeons II, a level 2 Overworld region that picks up right where Squid Coast leaves off. The fields keep the same broad mob mix as the coast — undead and illagers — but the fights get a little denser, the loot gets a little better, and the region introduces its first proper place of interest: the Honeycomb Barn.
Mobs
The region's four common mob families will feel familiar after the coast:
- Vindicators (25 HP) — heavy axe illagers that punish careless positioning.
- Pillagers (20 HP) — crossbow harassment from the back line.
- Skeletons (7 HP) — brittle archers that die to a stiff breeze.
- Zombies (8 HP) — the melee horde, with 12 HP soul-imbalance, 36 HP Variant I and 52 HP Variant II forms waiting at higher difficulties.
It is a straightforward roster with no surprises, which is exactly what a level 2 region should be: room to practice combos, test your first enchantments and learn which damage types your build favors. Zombies here share the family's +50% weakness to blast damage, so anything explosive earns its slot.
Places of interest
Honeycomb Barn
The Honeycomb Barn is the region's one listed place. Inside, the mob mix shifts: expect Zombies alongside Mucked (30 HP), Frozen (35 HP) and Husks (42 HP) — a noticeably tougher crowd than the open fields. Place pages in the database record each place's doors and when they open, what is fought inside and how many chests it holds, so check the Barn's entry before diving in to plan around its chests.
Loot and chests
Region loot tables are the reason to revisit Honeycomb Fields. Notably, the unique Mage helmet Oracle Crown can drop here — alongside Brave Haven and The Deep Dark — as the unique roll of the Mystic Circlet. It is one of the earliest unique helmets a player can plausibly find, and it also appears as a one-time quest reward from A Dip in Ichor Springs (one of four random options). Beyond that, the region's gear drops follow the standard rules: commons roll no effects, rares roll one, specials roll two, with effect tiers climbing alongside threat level. The Barn's tougher garrison also makes it a good early test of whatever build you are assembling — if the mucked and frozen inside give you trouble, your loadout probably needs work before Howling Woods.
