Crossbow

The Crossbow is the ranged weapon most closely associated with the Illager army — Pillager warriors are rarely seen without one. In the hands of a hero, it is a light, fast-handling bolt shooter that trades the Bow's traditional feel for quicker, punchier projectiles. Its Fighter archetype marks it as a straightforward combat weapon rather than a trick-shot specialist.

Stats and mechanics

Crossbows are known for faster projectiles than bows, and this one sits in C tier for calculated DPS — respectable, middle-of-the-pack output that stays consistent across most encounters. As with every ranged weapon in Dungeons II, bolts are unlimited and regenerate on their own, so the Crossbow can keep pressure on targets indefinitely. Its light weight keeps fire and movement fluid, which suits heroes who weave ranged volleys between melee exchanges. Enchantments let it grow toward crowd control, damage boosts, or ammo-style trickery depending on build goals.

How to get it

The Crossbow drops in Brave Haven, Honeycomb Fields and Humbler Huskland. It shows up from early areas onward, making it an easy first crossbow to experiment with before chasing rarer variants.

Builds and playstyles

The Crossbow fits aggressive heroes who want a reliable sidearm that never runs dry. It works well in balanced builds that split time between melee and ranged, and it pairs naturally with enchanting setups that reward frequent hits. Crossbow fans can move up to the Rapid Crossbow for a faster trigger, the Heavy Crossbow for heavier bolts, or the Scatter Crossbow for spraying crowds. Bow loyalists should compare it with the Bow and the Powerbow.
