Shortbow

The Shortbow is the quick-draw option of the bow family in Minecraft Dungeons II: a shorter, weaker bow with a faster fire rate and quicker charge time. It is the bow for heroes who fight up close and never stop moving.

Stats and mechanics

The Shortbow's strength is handling — its Ranger + Trickster archetype and light weight make it forgiving in chaotic close-quarters fights where targets move and windows are brief, and it sits in C tier for calculated DPS. Individual arrows hit lighter than a Longbow's, but the faster rhythm and quicker charge keep damage competitive and feel great in motion. Arrows are unlimited and self-regenerating in Dungeons II, so the quick trigger never runs dry. Enchantments that trigger on hits are the natural pairing, since more arrows per second means more chances to proc.

How to get it

The Shortbow drops in Frozen Highlands and Humbler Huskland, or as a quest reward. Check vendors for good rolls as item power climbs — and remember that any Shortbow drop can roll as its unique variant, Shooting Star.

Builds and playstyles

The Shortbow suits aggressive archers who fight at mid-range and reposition constantly. It works well with enchanting setups built around on-hit effects. Trick-shot fans can graduate to the Trickbow, while heroes who want crossbow speed can try the Rapid Crossbow. For more reach, the Longbow is the natural step up, and the standard Bow is the balanced middle ground.
