Kotyan’s successors must choose where the Cuman people will settle. In Bulgaria, help retake Nesebar and defend the Wonder; in Hungary, support King Bela against rebellious nobles and Duke Frederick while securing villages and refugee supplies.
Player approach
A New Home asks you to rescue Villagers, establish a base north of the river, and push back a Latin Empire city racing toward a Wonder. Use the Bulgarian Konnik reinforcements and your own cavalry to sustain a focused siege.
Step-by-step plan
After crossing the river, follow the Bulgarian cavalry to its camp and rescue the southern Villagers. Build the main Town Center near the berries and gold, then send a separate group to mine the southern stone needed for Castles. Keep recruiting Villagers while the ally supplies Konniks, and add Paladins and Elite Kipchaks for a mobile army. When the Wonder threat is active, break through the city’s gates and target the first Castle; destroy Stables to reduce the flow of Cavaliers, then remove the remaining Castle and Wonder to liberate the city.
Risks and adjustments
The free Konnik reinforcements arrive over time, but they cannot substitute for an economy or siege plan. Do not attack the city before the force is ready, and avoid splitting the cavalry between the Latin defenses and unrelated raids.

- Choose to follow the Cuman chief to the Danube and seek a new home in Bulgaria, or travel to Hungary to stay with King Bela.
- Bulgaria route: free the villagers, retake Nesebar from the Latin Empire, then defeat the Byzantines or defend the Bulgarian Wonder.
- Hungary route: protect King Bela, defeat the Hungarian nobles and Austrians.
- Optional on the Hungary route: find the ruined Castle, capture villages by damaging their towers, and deliver Ox Carts for aid.
