Overview

Tamerlane begins behind Samarkand’s defenses and must expand across the steppe to secure three Relics. Rival khanates control the relics and draw resources from scattered camps; weaken their economies or bring Tokhtamysh into power to make the contest easier.

Player approach

Amir of Transoxiana rewards a fast split-force opening. Capture the Gaia camps around Tokhtamysh while the main army marches on the Blue Horde, and build a second Town Center to support the long fight.

Step-by-step plan

Pause to assign the cavalry and foot groups, then send the main force west toward the Blue Horde. Use a newly trained Light Cavalry to collect the eastern camps and divert a Camel to the northwestern camp; the moving army can secure the northern camp on its way. Meanwhile, establish a Town Center by the northeast gold and begin production. Reunite the captured camp units with the main group before pushing into the next base.

Risks and adjustments

The army must keep moving while the camp riders operate separately. Do not let the small detachments fight enemy bases alone, and keep the starting economy defended as the front advances.
