Overview
Explore the Pala Empire through the reign of Devapala.
Scenario details
Explore the Pala Empire through the reign of Devapala. Mission order and scenario notes: 1. Dissatisfaction — Secure a foothold by taking Kamarupa, then use its economy to prepare for the larger fight against Utkala. A clean capture without losing a unit grants a free advance to the Castle Age; the two rival camps can also be defeated for additional military upgrades 2. Desire — Three powers race to control the sacred city of Kannauj. The Monument drives a King of the Hill contest, while its owner receives a steady resource income; repair the city’s Monasteries and complete the military side tasks for additional advantages 3. Renunciation — The Hunas are led by three Khans spread across separate camps, and removing all three ends the mission. Monks can convert the leaders to gain their camps as allies; the Pratiharas and Multan offer optional ways to gather support or weaken the Huna forces 4. Liberation? — The campaign turns into a two-stage conquest. Capture the coastal Pandya settlements by taking their Castles, then push through the mountain route and stop the Rashtrakuta Wonder. Destroying Pandya Castles transfers nearby buildings and resources, so keep the advance moving 5. Enlightenment — Defend Bengal from two fronts while rebuilding Devapala’s Piety. Optional religious, scholarly, and construction tasks raise the Piety score and unlock rewards; the final result reflects both the military victory and how much spiritual progress you made Use the named objectives, starting setup, and mission order in this entry to distinguish it from the standard skirmish rules.
