Chivalry stable-production timing

Chivalry speeds production from Stables, so its value depends on having enough active cavalry production to recover the research cost. Build the production network first, then use the technology to keep a Knight force replenished.

Overview

Chivalry speeds production from Stables, so its value depends on having enough active cavalry production to recover the research cost. Build the production network first, then use the technology to keep a Knight force replenished.

Plan and execution

Prioritize Conscription, then research Chivalry once several Stables are working and the economy can maintain their queues. It is especially useful when map space or safety prevents adding more Stables, because existing buildings can reinforce a push more quickly. Keep rally points close to the contested front, but maintain enough food and gold to fund the faster output.

Risks and adaptation

The research cost could instead create several Knights immediately. Do not buy Chivalry for a small or idle Stable count; add production or units first when the immediate army is too small to hold the field.
