Opening decision and first timing
Cheaper wood costs for Archers and infantry can leave room for Farms or a second range. Free archer armor helps early ranged units survive exchanges, while faster stone mining and free tower research can secure a key location. A tower is valuable only when it covers a resource or route the opponent must contest.
Composition, counters, and transition
War Wagons are durable but expensive; use them as a protected ranged core rather than sending them alone into cavalry or siege. Turtle Ships give a strong coastal option where their slower movement can be managed. Keep production and vision around the area being defended, and switch away from static positions if the opponent can simply bypass them.

Technology & transition
Add siege or War Wagons after the opening, using range and fortified ground to protect the army.
Watch for
The Stable lacks key upgrades, so scout mounted threats and rely on the roster’s other counters.
