Overview

Loose Ends has limited gold and a stronger infantry-focused Melus. Secure both Relics early, use the Market for later gold, and field Cataphracts to counter the opponent’s ground army.

Plan and execution

Build a Monastery immediately and send two Monks toward the western Relic and the one north across the river. Use a small escort to distract the tower while a Monk retrieves the northern Relic. Expand Villager production and add a Market for trade before the map’s gold is exhausted. Build a Castle and produce Cataphracts against Melus’ infantry, while letting the Varangian Guard absorb pressure from the weaker mercenaries.

Risks and adaptation

Do not expose Monks or Villagers near the river without cover. The Varangian Guard can fall without ending the mission, so concentrate defenses on Melus and your own economy.
