Map type and generation
Seize The Mountain is listed as Hybrid, with the features Water & crossings, Contested center, High ground. Its recorded map scope is Standard. These labels describe the kind of terrain and match setup to expect; they do not guarantee that every generated map places resources in the same location.
Planning a match
Check shore access and fish before committing to docks; on mixed land-and-water layouts, keep enough land defense to protect the economy while the fleet contests fishing or crossings. Compare your opening plan with the actual spawn and scout report before choosing a build order.
Map plan: Seize The Mountain island-crossing plan
Seize The Mountain starts players on small islands in shallow water, with the central mountain holding valuable resources behind wooded slopes and narrow approaches. The objective rewards both naval access and control of a land choke Secure a Dock and protect the first Transport Ship, then scout which side of the mountain offers the safest landing. Land enough troops to hold a beachhead, clear the wooded approach, and bring miners only after the crossing is controlled. Use the choke to defend the resource site while the fleet protects reinforcements A transport without naval cover can lose the whole expedition. Do not send miners before clearing the narrow route or fight uphill into a prepared force without siege and reinforcements
How to use this reference
Players start on small islands in shallow water with limited resources. A resource-rich central mountain is the main objective, but its wooded slopes create narrow approaches and defensible choke points. Scout the shoreline and landing points early; a route that is safe for ships may still expose a transported army when it reaches land. The map’s resource layout affects which expansions are sustainable and where an opponent is likely to contest control. Pool scope: Standard.
