Overview

Seljuk begins with a small mounted force and a population limit tied to captured horses. Explore the lakes for safe transport and conversion support, grow the herd early, and build a modest guard before the larger rival forces activate.

Plan and execution

Send the starting cavalry southwest to find the woodcutter and Imam, then use the Imam’s wider sight to locate the island transport. Move captured horses to protected islands to expand the herd without exposing them to raids. Convert isolated Oghuz units to strengthen the army, and keep a compact mixed force near the base to protect Villagers from recurring attacks. Secure the Great Tent when the route is safe: it unlocks mounted-unit production and upgrades that support the campaign’s core army.

Risks and adaptation

Do not send the heroes deep through hostile camps before you have healing or a retreat route. Horses are limited and can be attacked after capture, so ferry them to safety promptly. Keep the base guard close enough to answer raids, and avoid drawing the Kara-Khanids while crossing toward the eastern settlements.
