Overview
Turks: Collect gold efficiently and aim for a safe Castle Age timing before committing heavily to gunpowder. Janissaries, Hand Cannoneers, and cavalry can punish opponents who lack the right counters.
Opening decision and first timing
Faster gold mining makes a gold-heavy plan easier to support, and Scout Cavalry with extra pierce armor can pressure ranged defenses. Use that opening for information and space while working toward the gunpowder transition. The lack of later Spearman and Skirmisher upgrades means scouting mounted and ranged threats is especially important.
Composition, counters, and transition
Janissaries and other gunpowder units can deliver a strong late push after Chemistry and supporting research, but they are expensive and need a screen from fast melee units. Free Light Cavalry and Hussar upgrades provide a mobile partner that does not spend gold. Choose Artillery or Sipahi according to the army actually in production, and protect siege from counterattacks.
Opening priorities
Collect gold efficiently and aim for a safe Castle Age timing before committing heavily to gunpowder.
Core army
Janissaries, Hand Cannoneers, and cavalry can punish opponents who lack the right counters.
Technology & transition
Use free Chemistry and discounted gunpowder research to scale into a decisive late push.
Watch for
The lack of Pikemen and Elite Skirmishers makes scouting essential; protect gunpowder units from cavalry and archers.
