Overview
Wu: Use the fast House construction to free Villagers for food and move toward Feudal Age efficiently. Hei Guang Cavalry and other mounted options reward a cavalry-centered plan.
Opening decision and first timing
Fast House construction lets fewer starting Villagers handle housing, freeing the others for early food. When Barracks or Stables are built, the food grant can help fund the first units or an upgrade; do not build extra production solely to claim the bonus. Scout for a genuine cavalry target before using that timing to raid.
Composition, counters, and transition
Infantry regeneration can preserve survivors between fights, while Fire Archers and Jian Swordsmen support different army shapes. Free naval movement and durability research also makes water play more attractive if a Dock and fleet can be protected. When preparing Imperial Age mounted pressure, check the actual roster and opposing counters rather than assuming every standard cavalry line is present.
Opening priorities
Use the fast House construction to free Villagers for food and move toward Feudal Age efficiently.
Core army
Hei Guang Cavalry and other mounted options reward a cavalry-centered plan.
Technology & transition
Use early tempo to wall or pressure, then grow production behind the civilization’s strong mounted line.
Watch for
The opening advantage is timing-based; scout for aggression and keep enough Villagers gathering to support it.
