Role, availability & values

The Officer’s ranged attack deals 25 damage at range 2–14 every three seconds. Its hand attack deals 20 damage at a 1.5-second interval, and its siege attack deals 10 damage. It has line of sight 20. These values belong to the neutral guardian profile; it is not an ordinary military unit and cannot be produced from a standard building. The guardian appears at some Treasure sites in The African Royals content.

Matchup & timing

Bring support if the Explorer would take too long to remove 500 hit points alone. Its ranged attack can pressure a hero approaching the reward, and its hand attack adds damage if the hero remains close. Defeat the Officer and any accompanying guardians before collecting; a Treasure encounter is safer when the hero is not taking attacks during the pickup.

A durable mixed-range guardian

The Colonial Officer combines a 25-damage ranged attack with a 20-damage hand attack and has 500 hit points. Its 30% ranged resistance rewards players for bringing a supported force instead of relying only on ranged attacks. Keep the Explorer moving if possible and use allied units to divide the damage while clearing the site.

The reward encounter is the context

This profile describes a neutral defender tied to Treasure placement. It does not describe a trainable Officer, a campaign hero or a standard civilization unit. The specific Treasure reward and other guardians depend on the map, so approach based on what is actually present rather than assuming every Colonial Officer guards the same reward.
