Deccan

Deccan is an Asian Dynasties map whose opening provides resources before the Town Center has been constructed. That changes the usual order of early economic and military infrastructure: players can make an initial investment before the central building is ready, but still need to account for the resources required to establish the colony.

Map character

Read the starting crates and build options before spending them. Decide what must be constructed first, then preserve enough resources for the Town Center and the next economic step. Scout the nearby route and settlements while the opening buildings are established; Deccan’s generated positions still determine which map objectives are practical.

What to scout

Use the early stockpile to accelerate a deliberate opening, not to queue several buildings without a plan. A production-first choice can create pressure, while an economy-first choice can prepare a safer transition; either way, keep the Town Center timing and worker safety in view.

A river cuts through the forested plateau

Deccan’s river divides the map, but some shallow, swampy sections can be crossed on foot while other stretches remain barriers where Walls can shape movement. Players begin with resources before their Town Center is built, so the first minutes differ from a standard starting position. Water Buffalo appear in small groups and can be tamed as livestock or tasked to a Sacred Field or Shrine. Two Native settlements occupy the central plain, which becomes a plateau in team matches. Scout the crossing and settlement before choosing a forward Trading Post.
