Espingol
Espingol is Danish artillery available from the Industrial Age through the Fort. Its long-range Bombard attack deals area siege damage, making it useful for breaking buildings or clustered forces from a protected position.

Role, availability & values
The recorded unit has 150 hit points, moves at 2.4 speed and has 75% ranged resistance. It occupies four population, costs 100 Wood and 300 Coin, and takes 40 seconds to train. Its Bombard attack deals 66 damage in three projectiles at 26 range, with a 3.0-second interval and area of effect 2.
Matchup & timing
Use Espingols when the army can protect a slow, population-heavy artillery piece. Position them behind a screen and bring them forward only after scouting the route. Their range is valuable against structures, but fast units or enemy artillery can punish an unsupported gun.
Unlocking the Danish artillery and attack modes
The Danes unlock Espingols through the Espingolen technology at a Church in the Industrial Age after sending the Kongeloven Home City Card. The technology ships six Espingols, increases their hit points by 35% and damage by 40%, and enables production at Forts. Each Espingol uses four population and has 150 base hit points; in Limber mode it moves at 4.0 speed, while Bombard mode reduces speed to 2.4. Its Bombard attack launches three 66-damage projectiles at range 26 every three seconds, affecting an area of 2. The multi-projectile volley is effective against clustered infantry, but its building multiplier is only 0.75 and it deals reduced damage to Cavalry, Shock Troops, Artillery and Ships. Keep the gun in Limber mode when relocating and deploy it behind a screen before firing. Cavalry, shock units and Culverins can punish it if the slow artillery is left without protection.
Danish unlock conditions and battlefield role
The Espingol is not part of the Danish starting artillery roster. The Danes first need the Kongeloven Home City Card, then research Espingolen at the Church after reaching the Industrial Age. The technology ships six guns, increases their hit points by 35% and damage by 40%, and enables later training at a Fort. This setup means the Church research is a significant investment that should be coordinated with an Industrial Age plan. The Espingol resembles an Organ Gun in firing several projectiles, but its Bombard mode moves more slowly than Limber mode and its reduced modifiers against buildings mean that it is not a Mortar substitute. Use its area volley to clear clustered units at long range while friendly cavalry or infantry protect it from flanks and Culverins.
