Ethiopian Wolf
Ethiopian Wolf is a Treasure guardian in Age of Empires III. It protects a map reward and must be defeated before an Explorer or other eligible hero can safely claim it; it is not an Ethiopian military unit.

Role & threat profile
The Wolf has 80 hit points, speed 7, line of sight 9 and a 9-damage hand attack. Its movement lets it close on a hero who approaches the Treasure. Check for additional guardians at the site, since a group can deal more damage than the Wolf alone.

Combat values
Compare the Explorer’s remaining health with the full guardian group before engaging. Bring nearby support or use a hero ability if several units can attack at once, then claim the Treasure after the area is clear. Do not leave a low-health hero beside an uncleared site, and do not confuse this neutral guard with a trainable unit from an Ethiopian building.
Use the guardian’s speed in the approach plan
A 7.0 movement speed lets the Wolf reach an Explorer quickly, so scouting the Treasure from a safe distance matters. The 80 hit points and 9-damage attack make it a manageable guardian for a supported hero, but an adjacent group can still punish an injured unit. Reveal nearby guards, choose a path that avoids drawing several at once and keep support close enough to intervene. The Wolf’s role ends with the Treasure encounter; it is not a source of Food or an available army unit.
