Fall of the Hausa (co-op)
Fall of the Hausa (co-op) is a cooperative Historical Battle in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, set in 1804. Two players share control of Hausa against Hausa. This mode uses a team-specific objective sequence based on Fall of the Hausa.

Mission background
The required goals are Destroy the Town Centers of Gobir, Katsina and Kano. Optional goals include Build a University; Free the abused Hausa peasants.
Objectives & rules
Assign Gobir, Katsina and Kano to coordinated assaults so the team can remove all three Town Centers without leaving one player exposed to counterattacks. Keep a reserve near the weakest front and synchronize the final attacks. Build the University or free the abused Hausa peasants when doing so does not stall the required city assaults.
Historical Battle objectives
Fall of the Hausa is a Definitive Edition cooperative Historical Battle set in 1804. Two players share control of Hausa forces against Hausa opponents. The required objectives are to destroy the Town Centers of Gobir, Katsina and Kano. Optional objectives are to build a University and free abused Hausa peasants. Coordinate the attack so both players do not overcommit to the same Town Center while another remains intact. Scout the route to each target, protect siege units and keep a mobile reserve to defend the allied base while the other player advances. The University and prisoner-rescue objectives can provide additional value, but should be attempted when the main force is strong enough to continue the destruction sequence. Town Centers are durable and require siege pressure; do not waste the army attacking them without protecting the siege. Check the mission objective panel after each center falls and move the force toward the remaining named targets. The co-op format rewards dividing roles and sharing reinforcements. This scenario is set in 1804 and follows the historical battle title, but the player’s exact army and objectives are controlled by the game’s scripted scenario.
Coordinating three Town Center assaults
Gobir, Katsina and Kano each have a Town Center that must be destroyed. Assign players separate targets or split one player to protect the base while the other advances, and communicate before moving siege units. A Town Center takes sustained damage, so bring enough force to protect siege and avoid leaving a target half-destroyed while the army retreats. The optional University and prisoner rescue can add value, but the primary sequence is the three named Town Centers. Freeing the peasants may support the campaign force; attempt it when the path is safe and the Town Center assault is not at risk. Use a mobile reserve to answer raids while the main group advances. After each structure falls, check the objective tracker and reposition toward the next target rather than scattering to chase survivors. The scenario is set in 1804 and gives both players control of the Hausa, so each co-op role can focus on a different part of the operation.
Optional support tasks
A University and freed peasants can strengthen the side’s position, but do not let optional work delay the three required Town Center destructions. Split responsibilities between players.
Cooperative target assignment
Split the three Town Center objectives between players and keep a reserve near the shared base. Clear optional tasks only when siege and defense are already covered.
Coordinate the three-city assault
The co-op objective is to destroy the Town Centers of Gobir, Katsina and Kano. The optional University and abused Hausa peasants add economic and liberation goals, but the three Town Centers remain the required targets. Assign the players separate approaches only if each can sustain a siege force; otherwise, combine armies to remove one Town Center quickly and then move together. Keep a reserve near the University objective if one player is handling the assault elsewhere. Freeing the peasants can improve the team’s position, but a long detour may allow the enemy to reinforce the remaining cities. Scout each approach, prepare siege support and avoid leaving a player’s force stranded after a Town Center falls. This page describes the co-op Definitive Edition scenario, so it focuses on shared objectives rather than solo campaign pacing.
