Role, availability & values
Production is available through Lakota War Chief (with the "Smoke Signals" card). It has 45 hit points. It moves at 5.0 speed. Training costs 50 Food; it takes 8 seconds to train. Attack profile: Hand attack deals 6 damage. Hand attack bonuses: 3.0× against Treasure guardian and 0.1× against Villager.
Matchup & timing
Fang is a fragile Lakota War Chief pet: the Smoke Signals card provides access, but the coyote has only 45 hit points. Use it for nearby support and Treasure-guardian damage, then keep it close to the War Chief rather than scouting alone. Its 5.0 speed helps it follow, but a single exposed engagement can remove the investment.
Lakota access, pet scaling and aura support
Before Definitive Edition, the Lakota could send Smoke Signals and train Fang through the Lakota War Chief for 50 Food in eight seconds. That access route is edition-specific; the current unit profile also records scenario or special access, so do not assume every standard match can train it from the War Chief. Fang has 45 hit points, 10% hand resistance, 5.0 speed and 12 line of sight. Its 6 hand damage attack strikes every 1.5 seconds, deals 3.0 times damage to Treasure guardians and only 0.1 times to Villagers, making it a cheap escort for treasure hunting rather than an effective raider. The Lakota War Chief’s Health Aura increases Fang’s speed by 10% (0.5), and War Dance can raise its damage by up to 27% (1.62). The older source also notes a 10% health increase from Infantry Breastplate after New Ways is sent. These are support interactions, not reasons to expose the coyote to an army. Keep it near its hero and use its guardian bonus to collect early Treasure efficiently.
Limits and support modifiers
Fang has a listed limit of 12 and yields five XP when trained or killed. It can see stealth in Definitive Edition, a feature marked as absent from the original profile. Its speed can benefit from the Lakota War Chief Health Aura (+10%, or 0.5 speed), and War Dance can increase damage by up to 27% (1.62). The older source notes that Infantry Breastplate can unexpectedly add 10% hit points after the New Ways card is sent. These effects should be read alongside the card and civilization conditions: Fang’s Smoke Signals training route belongs to the pre-Definitive Edition Sioux/Lakota War Chief setup. Its 3.0× bonus against Treasure guardians explains why the pet can repay its small Food cost through early exploration, but its 0.1× Villager multiplier makes it a poor raider.
