Fish - Mahi
Fish – Mahi is a 500-Food marine resource in Age of Empires III. Mahi schools appear on the tropical Caribbean and Hispaniola maps; they are not ships or combat units. Fishing Boats and other eligible fishing gatherers collect Food from the school.

Role, availability & values
Up to 20 gatherers can work the resource, and its 100 hit points and nine line of sight describe the map object rather than a player unit. Mahi can be harvested by Fishing Boats, Funes, Canoes and Caravels under the listed game information. The school is finite, so boats must move to another fish source when its Food is depleted.
Matchup & timing
Scout the warm-water maps before investing in a Dock and fishing fleet. A nearby Mahi school can provide a substantial 500 Food, but boats are exposed to naval attacks and may need protection. Keep the fishing area within reach of friendly ships, and shift to another source after the school is exhausted. Do not include Mahi in a land-map plan where it does not spawn.
A finite school rather than an unlimited fish source
Each Mahi contains 500 Food, unlike unlimited fish resources. A single school can be worked by as many as 20 gatherers, allowing a fleet to collect it quickly but also making the location a visible naval objective. On the Caribbean and Hispaniola maps, compare its position with the Dock and the opponent’s likely route before sending boats. Protect the fishing area while the Food remains, then relocate the fleet instead of leaving boats idle over an exhausted school.
