African building durability

Fortified Cities is an Industrial Age African technology at the Town Center. It costs 3,000 Influence, takes 30 seconds and increases hit points by 50% for Town Centers, Palaces and Mountain Monasteries or Universities. It strengthens several important structures at once, rather than every building in the settlement.

Research before a siege

The high Influence cost makes this a defensive investment for a position expected to remain important. Research before enemy siege reaches those structures, then use an army to prevent the opponent from attacking them freely. It does not repair existing damage or replace defensive units. Check which listed buildings the civilization has and whether the upgrade will protect more than one useful site.
