Haudenosaunee Scouting Party
Haudenosaunee Scouting Party is a Commerce Age Big Button technology researched at the Town Center in The WarChiefs and Definitive Edition. It sends five Tomahawks to the Home City arrival point after ten seconds for 500 Food. The five-unit delivery is faster than adding the same group through ordinary unit queues, but the shipment point and available population must be ready. Haudenosaunee Raiding Party is the next technology in the line.

Effect & research conditions
Research it at the Town Center and rally the Tomahawks where they can join the main force or defend an exposed position. In the standard profile, five Tomahawks cost 375 Food and 100 Wood when trained individually; Scouting Party trades that mix for a 500-Food payment and a short ten-second research time. An Industrial Age Old Ways Home City Card reduces its Food cost to 250. Check the active deck and age before budgeting around the discount.
Research condition
Haudenosaunee; Commerce Age; researched at the Town Center; costs 500 Food; 10-second research time; provides five Tomahawks; Haudenosaunee Raiding Party follows.
When to research
Use Scouting Party when a rapid group of five Tomahawks can support a Commerce Age push or stabilize the base. The technology is particularly useful when the Town Center is free to research and the War Hut queue is already occupied, but it still costs Food needed for Villagers and other troops. If using Old Ways, account for the later timing of that card rather than treating the reduced cost as an opening value.
A fast unit group with a different resource mix
Five individually trained Tomahawks use 375 Food and 100 Wood in the recorded standard comparison, while Scouting Party costs 500 Food and completes in ten seconds. The technology therefore saves the Wood component and delivers the force together, but it asks for more Food than the five units’ listed base Food cost. Compare the resources you actually have: the Town Center technology may be convenient when Wood is committed elsewhere, while ordinary production can be preferable when Food is scarce or the War Hut can train continuously.
Version name and discounted cost
The technology was called Iroquois Scouting Party before Definitive Edition adopted the Haudenosaunee name. The Old Ways Home City Card, available in the Industrial Age, reduces the technology’s Food cost to 250. Keep that discount separate from the base 500-Food cost and do not assume it is available in every deck or during a Commerce Age timing. Haudenosaunee Raiding Party remains the listed next step in the Big Button progression.
