Role, availability & values
Humbaraci are produced through the Artillery Foundry and other Ottoman access points. Their profile includes a mortar attack reaching 16 range and a separate siege attack, both with area damage; they occupy two population. They remain vulnerable to melee units that can reach the firing line.
Matchup & timing
Use Humbaraci when the army needs Infantry that can contribute to a building push. Keep them behind a screen against melee counters, and use artillery support for targets that require longer range or heavier siege. Reposition when cavalry reaches the formation.
Ottoman artillery mercenary
The Humbaraci is an Ottoman mercenary artillery unit in Definitive Edition. Use it to support a siege from behind infantry, and protect it from cavalry or other artillery hunters. Its access and cost depend on the Ottoman mercenary system, so check the current building roster before planning production.
Ottoman mortar infantry
The Humbaraci is Ottoman heavy infantry that carries mortar-style attacks, giving it a building pressure role unusual for a foot unit. Its recorded cost is 110 Food and 80 Coin, it uses two population, takes 40 seconds to train and has 225 hit points, 25% ranged resistance, speed 4.25 and line of sight 17. It is available through the Artillery Foundry, Fort, Galleon or American Citadel under the listed rules. The mortar attack can reach 16 and uses area damage, while a separate siege attack contributes against structures. This makes Humbaraci useful in a combined push where infantry protects the approach and the unit adds damage to buildings. It remains vulnerable if melee units reach it, so do not deploy it in front of the line. The two-population cost is moderate compared with heavy artillery, but production time and access conditions still need planning. Check the current attack profile and mercenary or Ottoman access before using it, because the available buildings differ by release and mode. Keep it behind Musketeers or other screen units and use artillery for targets that need longer reach. Its mixed infantry and siege role complements the Ottoman army rather than replacing a dedicated Mortar.
Ranged siege profile
Humbaraci are available from the Commerce Age in the Ottoman roster, with production through an Artillery Foundry or other listed access. They combine heavy infantry with mortar-style attacks, allowing the force to pressure buildings while advancing. The 225 hit points and 25% ranged resistance help them survive some ranged fire, but melee units can still reach and overwhelm them. Keep Musketeers or other frontline units between the Humbaraci and cavalry, and use its attack modes against the target that fits their range. The 110-Food, 80-Coin cost and two-population use make it a planned addition to a siege force rather than a substitute for standard infantry. Production can also be available through Fort, Galleon or American Citadel rules, depending on mode. Confirm the current access before building an Ottoman strategy around the unit.
Keep mortar infantry screened
Humbaraci provide siege pressure while remaining infantry, but their 4.25 speed and 225 hit points do not make them safe against melee counters. Let the frontline protect their firing position.
Siege infantry and target selection
Humbaraci are Ottoman infantry with a siege-oriented attack profile, giving the Ottoman army mobile pressure against buildings without relying only on conventional artillery. The unit costs 110 Food and 80 Coin, takes 40 seconds to train and uses two population. Its 225 hit points, 25% ranged resistance and speed 4.25 let it move with an army, but it is still vulnerable when melee troops reach it. At range, use the heavy attack against structures or other targets indicated by its bonuses, then retreat behind the infantry screen while the enemy responds. It can be trained from the Artillery Foundry and gains access through certain forts, ships or civilization buildings depending on mode; these alternate sources should not be assumed to exist in every match. The slow training time makes losing a group costly, so escort it and avoid exposing it to cavalry. Humbaraci contribute when the army needs siege damage that can keep pace with a ground push; they do not replace dedicated artillery against every target, and their population cost must be balanced against frontline units.
Ottoman heavy infantry with a siege role
The Humbaraci is Heavy Infantry similar to a Grenadier, functioning as support and siege rather than a dedicated anti-unit line. Compared with a Grenadier, it costs more Coin and less Food in the documented profile, and has more hit points, slightly higher speed and stronger melee and ranged attacks. This gives the Ottoman army a durable unit that can pressure buildings while remaining useful in a mixed fight.
Protect the artillery support unit
Humbaracis are not a replacement for Janissaries or other units that screen Cavalry. Keep them behind a front line, use their siege damage against exposed structures and retreat when artillery or light infantry targets them. Their resource mix can help when Food is constrained, but Coin is also needed for Ottoman upgrades and advanced units. Add them when the army needs siege support, not simply because the unit is available.
Attack modes and update history
Humbaraci uses separate ranged, hand and siege profiles, so its role is more specialized than its Heavy Infantry label alone suggests. The current profile lists 28 damage for its third hand attack, down from 30 before hotfix 13.29985 and 26 before update 13.58326; its two recorded siege attacks each deal 50 damage, compared with 53 before that hotfix and 48 before update 13.58326. Against Artillery, the current listed modifiers are 2.0× for one attack and 1.75× for another; the former was 2.5× before hotfix 13.29985 and 2.25× before update 14.43676, while the latter was 2.0× before that hotfix. Current movement is 4.25 rather than 4.5 before update 19.18309, and ranged resistance is 25% rather than 30%. These values make it important to select the correct attack mode and protect the unit while it contributes siege damage. Its Cavalry and Shock Troop modifiers are low, so keep a screen between Humbaraci and units that can engage at close range.
