Order Musketeer

Order Musketeer is a Livonian Revolution infantry unit in The Baltic Powers content for Definitive Edition. It can fight as part of the revolutionary army and also construct Outposts, allowing one unit line to contribute to both combat and forward infrastructure. It is available through the listed military buildings and the Maltese Hospital. Building an Outpost creates a position for vision or defense, but assigning troops to construction temporarily reduces the force available to fight.

Role, availability & values

Use Order Musketeers with the army, then assign a portion to build an Outpost when the route and site can be protected. Keep the remaining force close enough to cover the builders. The unit’s dual role gives flexibility after the Livonian revolutionary transition, but construction does not make the Outpost complete instantly and exposed builders can be interrupted.

Training & availability

Livonian Revolution; Definitive Edition — The Baltic Powers; available through listed military buildings and the Maltese Hospital; can construct Outposts.

Matchup & timing

Build with them when an Outpost can secure a route, protect a forward gathering area or support a continuing push. Do not split too many units from the main force when the opponent is ready to attack. Since availability follows the Livonian Revolution, plan the infrastructure role around the transition and the buildings that remain accessible.

Livonian revolutionary infantry and Outpost construction

Order Musketeer is a Livonian Revolution unit in The Baltic Powers content for Definitive Edition. It costs 65 Food and 40 Coin, uses one population and takes 30 seconds to train from a Barracks, Fort, Galleon or the Maltese Hospital. It has 160 hit points, 30% hand resistance, speed 4.25 and line of sight 14. Its distinctive ability is to construct Outposts, allowing the revolutionary force to create forward vision or defense with units that can also fight. Assign only part of the group to building so the main force can cover them; construction temporarily reduces the number of musketeers available for combat, and an exposed Outpost site can be interrupted. Use the ability to secure a route, protect a forward gathering area or support a continuing advance. The unit’s access follows the Livonian Revolution, so plan infrastructure after the transition rather than relying on it in the pre-revolution roster. Outposts are not instantaneous protection: choose a defensible position and keep the remaining army close enough to respond. Its hybrid role gives flexibility, but it does not remove the need for separate units that counter the enemy composition.

Outpost siting and force split

The Outpost ability is most useful when it creates vision or a protected staging point along the army’s route. Before assigning builders, make sure the remaining musketeers can hold off an attack. Place the structure where it can support movement without extending beyond the force’s ability to defend it. The 65 Food and 40 Coin cost and 30-second training time make the unit a real production commitment, so avoid ordering more builders than the plan needs. Once completed, the Outpost can support the next push, while Order Musketeers remain available as a combat unit. Use the Outpost entry for its defensive function and the Order Musketeer entry for combat details.

Construction role

Building an Outpost changes the unit’s immediate contribution from combat to infrastructure. Keep an escort nearby and avoid sending all available Order Musketeers to construct at once.

Melee bonuses, regeneration and counters

The Order Musketeer’s 25-damage ranged attack fires every three seconds at range 13, while its 18-damage hand attack fires every 1.5 seconds. In melee, the listed multipliers raise the hand strike to 45 against Cavalry and 34.2 against Shock troops before resistance and upgrades. Its 30% hand resistance and regeneration help it stay in the field, but Light Infantry, counter-skirmishers and Artillery are listed weaknesses. Use the range to contribute before contact, then rely on the hand bonus only when Cavalry or Shock troops actually reach the line. Its Outpost-building ability can extend vision or defensive reach after a Livonian Revolution, but builders are still exposed while constructing; leave enough Order Musketeers with the main force to protect them and avoid pulling the entire fighting group away for a forward structure.
