Role, availability & values

It costs 13 population and takes 40 seconds under the recorded rules. The Rumeliots operate at close range while the Baghdad Janissaries provide the infantry line. The force arrives together, so reserve population for all ten units and keep the two roles close enough to support each other.

Matchup & timing

Choose the force when its mixed composition answers the current threat and the army can afford the population. Use the Rumeliots to engage targets that reach the line while the Janissaries hold position and contribute ranged pressure. Avoid sending the small group forward alone; compare its Consulate cost with other options if the opponent’s army requires a different counter.

A compact mixed package from the Consulate

The Expeditionary Force delivers three Rumeliots and seven Baghdad Janissaries, using 13 population and 40 seconds of Consulate time. Its value depends on using both parts: close-combat units should protect the firearm infantry, while the Janissaries add bodies to the line. The group is not a full army by itself. Add artillery or other counters as needed and check population before selecting it so the delivery does not block critical reinforcements.

Definitive Edition composition

The Fortress Age option costs 800 Export, takes 40 seconds and uses 13 population. The current company contains three Rumeliots and seven Baghdad Janissaries. The Asian Dynasties force used Gardeners and six Tufanci Corps; later versions renamed or replaced those units, and update 13.27885 established the current Rumeliot-based company.

Two infantry roles in one package

Rumeliots provide the close-combat component, while Baghdad Janissaries add firearm infantry. Keep the units together so the melee troops can protect the gun line, and use the company where both roles contribute. The smaller Commerce Age Ottoman Expeditionary Company contains only three Rumeliots; this Fortress Age option costs more but also supplies a larger mixed force.
