When to research
Research when Villagers are working the eligible Food buildings and Haciendas can keep producing. Its value grows with the number of workers and the time remaining in the match. If the economy is relying on Hunts or other sources outside the list, compare the cost with military production or a different economic technology.
Active Food gathering and passive Hacienda output
Paddy Threshing improves both Villager work rate and Hacienda auto-gathering, but only for Food. The 15% gathering bonus follows workers at Mills, Farms, Food Rice Paddies, Fields and Haciendas; the Hacienda trickle is a separate passive effect. It also unlocks Irrigation Channels, so include the next research in the economy plan. Avoid counting the bonus for workers collecting Coin or Wood from the same buildings.
