Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal is an Indian Wonder used for an age advance. Its completion grants Coin, the resource used for many Indian units, technologies and later age-up choices. It provides an immediate resource reward rather than an army or ongoing production effect.

Function & construction

Indian Villagers construct the Taj Mahal as the selected Wonder. The listed completion reward is Coin; its precise amount follows the game data for the applicable version. This reward is separate from the ordinary gathering rate and from the other Indian Wonders’ effects.

Placement & timing

Choose Taj Mahal when Coin is the bottleneck for the next phase, such as when the planned units or research need it. If the economy is short on Food or Wood instead, compare the other Wonder options. Protect the builders and make a spending plan so the Coin can support the transition as soon as it arrives.

Coin shipments and Cease Fire timing

The Taj Mahal is an Indian Wonder that advances to the next Age and sends a one-time Coin shipment. The shipment increases with the destination Age: 500 Coin for the Commerce Age, 800 for the Fortress Age, 1,500 for the Industrial Age and 2,400 for the Imperial Age. Its Cease Fire ability stops all units from attacking for 20 seconds, with a 450-second cooldown; defensive buildings are unaffected, and Definitive Edition reduces the user’s military-unit speed by 15% during the effect. Use the ceasefire to interrupt an enemy attack or reposition before a contested engagement, keeping in mind that the opposing army also cannot attack during the interval. Plan the Coin reward around Indian unit, research or age-up costs rather than letting it sit unused. Because the Wonder is selected as part of the Age-up, compare its resource shipment and tactical ability with the other Indian choices before construction.

Using the ceasefire safely

Cease Fire affects friendly and enemy units, so both armies lose the ability to attack for the duration. It does not disable defensive buildings, and the Indian player’s military units move 15% more slowly during the effect in Definitive Edition. This creates an important positional trade-off: it can stop a push or allow time to regroup, but it does not guarantee a safe retreat if towers or forts cover the route. Activate it when the army can use the interval to reposition or when stopping the enemy attack is more valuable than immediate damage.
