Function & construction

The selected age-up reward and the Gate’s continuing military function are related but distinct: the reward supplies the listed cavalry, while the structure can train Mansabdars. The exact options depend on the Indian roster and current game version. As an age-up Wonder, construction time and builder safety are part of the investment.

Placement & timing

Choose Charminar Gate when mobile cavalry fits the next army and the Mansabdar options answer a current need. Protect the builders, then use the reward promptly so the arrival creates a real timing. If the opponent is prepared with anti-cavalry, choose a Wonder and army mix that provide more support.

Age-up cost, shipment and Mansabdar access

The Charminar Gate is an Indian Wonder that advances to the next Age and has a distinct cavalry reward when construction completes. Its age-up choices cost 800 Food for the Commerce Age, 1,200 Food and 1,000 Coin for the Fortress Age, 2,000 Food and 1,200 Coin for the Industrial Age, and 4,000 Food plus 4,000 Coin for the Imperial Age in the listed profile. Advancing takes between 120 and 145 seconds depending on the age. The Wonder can use up to eight builders and has a 5,000 hit-point structure with a 5-by-4 footprint. On completion it sends Sowars or Mahout Lancers according to its reward rules; it also provides access to Mansabdar units that improve the attack and hit points of associated troops. Those are two related but separate benefits: the age-up shipment supplies cavalry immediately, while the building’s continuing role is training the relevant Mansabdar options. Choose it when cavalry pressure fits the plan and the supplied units can arrive at a useful timing. If the opponent is massing anti-cavalry, consider whether another Indian Wonder provides better support. Keep builders protected during the long age-up, and remember that using many Villagers speeds construction but temporarily reduces resource gathering. The Charminar Gate is unique to the Indians in The Asian Dynasties and Definitive Edition; consult the Indian Wonder entries for exact age-specific reward choices in the current release.

Using the age-up cavalry reward

The Gate’s completion shipment creates a short timing window: the Sowars or Mahout Lancers can reinforce an attack while the opponent is reacting to the Indian age advance. Decide where that force should go before construction finishes, and avoid leaving it idle at the Home City shipment point. If the opponent has prepared anti-cavalry, use the cavalry to threaten exposed units or force a response while ranged support attacks from safety. The Mansabdar system adds another layer by providing trained elite versions that boost associated troops’ attack and hit points. Do not confuse that continuing training option with the one-time shipment received when the Wonder is completed. Age-up cost and duration rise with the target age, and the player can assign up to eight builders; a larger builder group shortens the vulnerable construction period but temporarily reduces gathering. The finished Wonder’s 5,000 hit points make it durable, yet it should still be placed where enemy siege cannot attack freely. Its 5-by-4 footprint affects nearby building placement, so keep production routes open. Consider Charminar Gate against the other Indian Wonders: choose it when cavalry and Mansabdars fit the army, and use another Wonder when its reward better covers the matchup. Its Indian-only mechanics belong to The Asian Dynasties and Definitive Edition.

Builder allocation

The age-up costs are substantial at later ages, and up to eight builders may accelerate completion only by taking those Villagers away from gathering. Start the Wonder when the required resources are ready and the cavalry reward will still matter at the end of construction. Assign enough builders to reach the intended timing, then return workers to the economy. A longer, under-defended build gives the opponent time to raid, so protect the site and prepare the shipment’s destination in advance.

Age advancement, troops and Mansabdar access

The Indian Charminar Gate is a Wonder that advances the civilization to the next Age and also ships Sowars or Mahout Lancers when completed. It can train Mansabdar units, giving the Wonder a continuing military role after the age-up. Its recorded age-up costs are 800 Food for Commerce, 1,200 Food and 1,000 Coin for Fortress, 2,000 Food and 1,200 Coin for Industrial, and 4,000 of each resource for Imperial; the first, third and fourth transitions take 120 seconds and the second takes 145. Up to eight Villagers can build it, and its construction limit is one. Decide which Mansabdar units fill a real gap before assigning it as production: the age-up reward creates an immediate force, while repeated training still competes for resources and time. The finished Wonder is a high-value building and should not be placed where it can be isolated.
