Function & construction

Like the other Indian Wonders, Agra Fort is built by Hindu Villagers and their counterparts and can be selected for an Age advance. It attacks nearby enemies; the chosen age-up reward and the later Barracks roster give it both immediate and continuing military value.

Research condition

Placement & timing

Choose Agra Fort when the age-up’s infantry reward and a defended production position suit the next phase. Place it where its attack and Barracks access can protect a useful area, and use shipment delivery only when the card permits the Fort as a destination.

Indian Wonder and forward strongpoint

Agra Fort is one of the Indian Wonders chosen when advancing to a new Age. Hindu Villagers and their counterparts construct it, and completion advances the player while delivering Sepoys or Gurkhas as the age-up reward. The choice is unusual because the Wonder remains useful after the transition: it attacks nearby enemies, trains Barracks units and can receive eligible Home City shipments. The structure has 5,000 hit points, 34 line of sight, a 9-by-7 footprint and a garrison capacity of 50 listed economy or support units. Its defenses include a building attack and a powerful anti-siege weapon, though its attack multipliers are reduced against artillery and siege units. Place the Fort where it can protect a forward economy or important route while keeping its production accessible. The reward is strongest when the incoming infantry fits the planned army; compare it with the other Indian Wonders before committing builders and the age-up resources. As with other Wonder shipment functions, check whether the shipment card allows delivery to the Fort in the active ruleset.

Selecting the Fort over another Wonder

The Indian age-up offers several Wonder choices, and the Agra Fort is the military-position option. It gives either Sepoys or Gurkhas on completion, then continues to act as a defensive building and Barracks. This can save the time required to establish a separate production site near the front. The choice is strongest when the player can defend the location and make use of both the infantry reward and ongoing production. If another Wonder better supports the economy or a different military plan, compare that reward before assigning Villagers. The 50-unit garrison capacity provides shelter, but garrisoning does not remove the need to protect the Fort from siege.

Reward planning

Its population reward can reinforce immediately after the age-up, while the structure’s continuing production lets the same position remain useful. Arrange a rally point before the construction finishes.

Indian Wonder with defensive production

The Agra Fort is an Indian Wonder that advances the civilization and becomes a defensive production structure. Completing the age-up sends Sepoys or Gurkhas, according to the relevant choice, and the Fort can attack nearby enemies, train Barracks units and receive eligible Home City shipments. This gives the Wonder both an immediate age-up reward and a continuing military role. Its 5,000 hit points and 9-by-7 footprint make placement consequential: build where the attack and production access can support a useful area.

Choosing the infantry reward and position

Hindu Villagers and their counterparts construct the Agra Fort, which can be selected across the listed age advances. Choose it when the infantry shipment and fortified production fit the army plan; another Indian Wonder may better support economy or a different military timing. Keep population space for the incoming units, protect builders during construction and use the Fort as a reinforcement point only if the relevant shipment card permits it. Its garrison capacity includes Villagers and specified support units, but filling the building can remove workers or healers from other tasks. A Fort that is too exposed may be destroyed before its production value pays back.
